TYPOCOM have been commissioned to produce a series of essay papers for the Manchester New Economy Working Papers. Keep posted for the launch over the next few months…
TYPOCOM were asked to create the visual style and branding for the launch of the new Trevor Sorbie hair salon in Manchester. Drawing inspiration from the new state-of-the-art salon, which is evocative of the foyer of a chic five-star hotel, a range of material was produced which reflects this slick and sophisticated approach.

An invitation and gift card, printed on a luxurious tactile paper with the information foil-blocked for additional distinction, were created for the official launch party. The opulent gift cards were packaged in a custom-made envelope produced from the same material, and were individually numbered for each unique guest. Each envelope was sealed with a branded Trevor Sorbie sticker.

We are very pleased to announce that after a successful tender process TYPOCOM have been appointed to become an approved design and creative partner of Food Northwest.
Food Northwest are the strategic body representing the Northwest Food & Drink Industry, and we are really looking forward to helping them promote their activities creatively and strategically.
TYPOCOM have been working with The Modern, a sleek and sophisticated contemporary bar and restaurant located at the top of Urbis, one of Manchester’s most iconic buildings. Our aim is to help them promote their fantastic service and unique dining experience to a lunchtime clientele. Below are just a couple of the ideas aimed at making a visual impact on the city landscape.

TYPOCOM have been working with The Manchester Independent Economic Review (MIER) to help launch the initiative which will help shape the future of Manchester.
The review will look at areas such as trade, labour markets and inward investment, and consist of a Commission of prominent economists and business leaders with responsibility for commissioning high quality evidence-based research to inform key decision-makers in Manchester.

TYPOCOM were recently commissioned to produce all the external signage around the Manchester Central area. The simple but effective signage reflected key quotes for the educational conference on Manchester’s historic science and technological developments.

We recently entered a competition held by Cheshire West & Chester Council to create new identity with a £500 prize. TYPOCOM were eventually shortlisted into a final four and voting is currently taking place on the website below. Please see below for our submission and the rationale behind it.

Our fresh and innovative logo represents the coming together of the six core towns of Cheshire West and Chester. Chester, Frodsham, Neston, Ellesmere Port, Northwich and Winsford are each represented with their own vivid colour - joining and merging together - symbolic of the joint partnership and forward thinking views of the council, the towns’ people and their culture. As the icon is so visually strong, the typeface (Hoefler Text) has been chosen to give the logo a balanced weight and structure. The traditional typeface is representative of the district’s historic significance and heritage, and by combining this with a contemporary palette of colours and shapes, creates a fresh, dynamic, forward looking brand identity.
TYPOCOM have created a new installation for the University Hospital of South Manchester.
The Manchester design studio was commissioned to make the image which runs the 10 metres along the main outpatients corridor - the main thoroughfair of the hospital.
Creative director Dan Taylor said: “We wanted to create a display which was bold enough for people to momentarily glance at to take in the main facts, or to stop and read the more detailed information.”

The large format prints are matt coated, with additional text and imagery raised off the background and encased behind a high gloss finish.
“It was important that the display communicated our world-class services in a clear and concise way, and Typocom have interpreted this superbly. The contrast of the raised prints from the background, along with the life-size imagery of UHSM staff members, really makes people stop and take note of the display and the information contained within it,” added Rachel Blenkinsop, the hospital’s communications manager.

We recently worked with Wish Creative on the development of a series of ski run maps for Carrier’s 2009 Winter brochure. This involved creating a series of maps in far flung places such as the USA, Switzerland, France and Italy!
